Butoh-Workshop with Ambra Bergamasco @ Exploriment!
May 20th
12-2pm
Cost: €20,- (concession €18,-)
The Back Loft (7-11 St. Augustine Street )
In preparation of the first Butoh Festival Dublin, held August 23rd-26th 2012, Ambra Bergamasco is giving an open level Butoh Dance Workshop as part of the Exploriment Dance Fringe Weekend.
Butoh, a dance of Japanese origin, is a profoundly human art form, that speaks from soul to soul through images rather than shapes, building philosophical mindfulness through the body.
The improvisational dance is based on the individual experiences of the mover, using images drawn from nature or kinetic responses to emotional or physical states of the body.
Ambra will lead you through different images to work with throughout the 2 hours and so presents a great first class for everyone interested in exploring Butoh.
Ambra Bergamasco, Italian, has a vast experience as a theatre practitioner and dancer. She presented work in Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands and India. Her theatre training includes acting, Classical Indian dance and Butoh.
Ambra is part of the team organising the first Butoh Festival Dublin.
This is the first of a series of short workshops held in Dublin to warm you up for the international Butoh Festival Dublin. Further dates will be announced shortly via this website!
