Only one month until the Festival!

We are delighted to present Bridget Scott from Kyoto here in Dublin in only one month! Time is flying by and the last preparations (at least the ones that we can think of now) are in full swing.

As we can’t do everything on our own, we are looking for some volunteers to help us set up stuff, welcome the audience, etc. read our note here:

We are looking for more volunteers for the Butoh Festival Dublin! Things are all rolling into the right direction and in only 4 weeks, the first Butoh Festival Dublin will take place. We are all excited and working hard to bring it on!

Two different roles need to be filled in:

(A) Technical Assistants

As our schedule is pretty packed, we are looking for up to 5 people who want to help us on the performance evenings Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of August and also at the Film BYOBreakfast on Sunday morning.

 

You are…tech savvy (being able to confidently work with a projector, laptops, etc. without panicking that the damn machine doesn’t work..), able to see work and get it done swiftly with nice, good manners towards people working around you.

Very important for us is, that you are able to work independently after a briefing on Thursday afternoon (time tbc).

One person per night will be responsible for setting up a projector to screen the short films we received in an international call for work, and may be helping the light technician (very limited facilities in the house, but we try to make some magic work). All in all we hope to offer a nice space to the audience, artists and volunteers, creating a good energy to perform and work in.

 

(B) Front of house staff 

We are looking for a friendly person doing a shift at the ticket table on the performance evenings (handing out reserved / prepaid tickets and sale of tickets on the night). You are the first person the audience will meet, so a friendly and knowledgeable appearance is key.

As we are only tiny in comparison with other festivals in Dublin, only operating for the first time and our budget is under 2500€ for the 4 days, we hope to sweeten your work with the following goodies:

 

  • limited edition Festival T-shirt (only artists and team members, will not be sold and is to be worn on the day)
  • free entrance to the performance on the night you’re working
  • a drink on us afterwards
  • discounted tickets for the other performances
