MOVING BODIES Butoh Festival 2014: Italy Ireland and Scotland

“MOVING BODIES Butoh Festival – Italy Ireland Scotland 2014″

40Moving Bodies Butoh is a touring festival. The concept developed thanks to the artists we encountered during the previous festivals edition. In 2013 we had the pleasure to collaborate with the Firkin Crane – Cork- and Galway Dance Project – Galway – and meeting Paul M. Henry a Butoh artist from Glasgow, Scotland. With Paul we decided to strengthen the North West European pole of Butoh dance. Our attempt, as stated in our mission is to make Butoh accessible from every walk of life, as Butoh is not solely a practice confined to dance or performance, but a practice that can be beneficial on many levels, personal and work-related.

Minako Seki will give a tow days workshop from the 27th to the 28th of June in Dance Ireland dance House, Dublin; then, the tour will start in Teatro Espace Torino then in a yurt in Bologna (Italy);  on the 12th and premiere in Galway; at the Firkin Crane in Cork from the 17th to the 19th of July. It will go to the CCA-Glasgow for the 22rd and the 24th and return, to conclude in Dublin from the 27th to the 30th July. View the promo video here: http://vimeo.com/94378754
